Visit the Pakistan Monument and Museum, symbolizing the unity of Pakistan’s provinces, followed by the Lok Virsa Museum, which showcases the country’s diverse cultural heritage. After lunch, explore Saidpur Village, a centuries-old hamlet blending tradition and modernity. End the day at Daman-e-Koh, where panoramic city views await as the sun sets over the capital.

After breakfast, begin your scenic ascent through the lush Kaghan Valley. Pass through Balakot, Kiwai, and Naran, stopping for photos beside the Kaghan River. Continue along winding mountain roads surrounded by pine forests to reach Batakundi, a tranquil highland village. The fresh air, snow-capped views, and serene riverbanks make this a perfect introduction to the mountains. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at a cozy mountain resort.

Depart early and continue north along the legendary Karakoram Highway, one of the highest paved roads in the world. The drive takes you over the spectacular Babusar Pass (4,173m), offering sweeping views of the Himalayas. Stop at the viewpoint to photograph the surrounding peaks before descending toward Chilas and the Indus River gorge. Continue to Hunza, stopping at the 3 Junction Point where the Himalayas, Karakoram, and Hindu Kush ranges meet, and at Rakaposhi Viewpoint for tea with a mountain backdrop. Arrive in Hunza by evening and rest amid breathtaking scenery.

After breakfast, step back in time with visits to Altit Fort and Baltit Fort, Hunza’s twin architectural marvels that narrate centuries of royal history. Altit Fort, more than 900 years old, overlooks the Hunza River, while Baltit Fort’s Tibetan-inspired design reflects Hunza’s Silk Road influences. Wander through Karimabad Bazaar for gemstones, local crafts, and traditional apricot products. In the afternoon, enjoy a walk or optional drive to Eagle’s Nest, with commanding views of Rakaposhi and Ultar Sar. Dinner and overnight stay in Karimabad.

Drive north toward Passu Village, one of the most picturesque spots in the Karakoram. Trek to Passu Glacier, where towering ice walls descend dramatically between cliffs. Continue to Borith Lake, a serene alpine lake surrounded by golden reeds, and enjoy a picnic by the shore. Afterward, cross the exhilarating Hussaini Suspension Bridge, an iconic adventure over the Hunza River. End the day at Attabad Lake, where turquoise waters shimmer beneath towering peaks. Return to Hunza for the evening.

After breakfast, visit Gulmit, a heritage-rich village known for its Wakhi culture. Explore the Korgah Carpet Weaving Center, where women artisans craft handwoven carpets using traditional techniques. Visit the Old House Gulmit, a preserved home offering insights into ancient Hunza life. After lunch, enjoy the Baskochi Trek, a short hike offering panoramic views of Attabad Lake and the Karakoram peaks. Watch the sunset paint the mountains gold before returning to your accommodation for dinner.

Spend a relaxed day exploring Hunza at your own pace. Shop for local gemstones and handicrafts in Karimabad, visit traditional homes, or hike to Eagle’s Nest for magnificent sunrise or sunset views. You may also visit surrounding villages such as Ganish or Hoper for cultural immersion. Dinner and overnight stay in Hunza.

After breakfast, drive to Naltar Valley, known for its pine forests, lush meadows, and snow-clad peaks. The drive from Gilgit to Naltar winds through scenic mountain terrain and sparkling streams. Upon arrival, explore the picturesque valley or simply relax in nature. The isolation and serenity of Naltar make it a perfect retreat for photography and stargazing. Dinner and overnight stay at a mountain lodge.

In the morning, visit the vibrant Naltar Lakes, whose waters shift between emerald green and sapphire blue depending on the light. The surrounding alpine forests and reflections of the peaks make for incredible photographs. Afterward, return toward Gilgit, stopping at the Kargah Buddha, an 8th-century rock carving depicting a seated Buddha surrounded by smaller figures — a symbol of the region’s Buddhist heritage. Arrive in Gilgit for an evening stroll through the bazaar and overnight stay.

After breakfast, begin the scenic descent along the Karakoram Highway and enter the Kaghan Valley. En route, stop at the mesmerizing Lulusar Lake, the largest natural lake in the valley, surrounded by majestic snow-covered peaks. Continue through Naran and ascend toward Shogran, a lush plateau known for its sweeping views and alpine serenity. Walk through pine forests or relax with tea overlooking the valley. Dinner and overnight stay at a mountain resort.

After breakfast, drive back to Islamabad. En route, visit Taxila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was once a thriving center of Buddhist learning.
