Continue to the Pakistan Monument and Lok Virsa Museum, where the story of Pakistan unfolds through art, music, and tradition. In the afternoon, enjoy sweeping views of the city from the hills, then explore the historic Saidpur Village. An elegant introduction to your journey into northern Pakistan.

Depart early for a scenic drive to Ayun Valley, the southern gateway to Chitral. Travel through fertile plains and mountain roads via Dir, crossing the impressive Lowari Tunnel. As the landscape transforms into alpine valleys and rivers, short stops allow you to absorb the scenery and local life. Arrive in Ayun by evening, surrounded by panoramic mountain views and crisp highland air.

After breakfast, travel to Bumburet Valley, the cultural heart of Kalash land and the primary venue of the Chilam Joshi Festival. Witness vibrant spring celebrations marked by traditional dances, rhythmic drumming, ceremonial songs, and colorful Kalash attire. Visit the Kalasha Dur Museum to better understand the spiritual beliefs and social traditions of the Kalash people. Return to Ayun by evening after a full day immersed in one of Pakistan’s most extraordinary cultural festivals.

Today, take a detour to Birir Valley, the most traditional and least visited of the Kalash valleys. Continue experiencing Chilam Joshi Festival celebrations in a quieter, more intimate setting. Walk through the village, observe daily life, and witness spring rituals that reflect the Kalash people’s deep connection with nature and seasons. After a culturally rich day, return to Ayun Valley for the night.

Begin the day with a scenic drive toward Birmoghlasht, a former royal summer retreat offering sweeping views over the Chitral Valley. Continue to Chitral Gol National Park, home to the endangered Markhor and diverse Himalayan wildlife. Enjoy a picnic surrounded by alpine landscapes before driving onward to Mastuj, a tranquil settlement in Upper Chitral, arriving by evening.

Travel deeper into the highlands toward the legendary Shandur Pass, known as the “Roof of the World.” Walk along the historic Shandur Polo Ground, set amid vast alpine plains and dramatic mountain horizons. After spending time in this breathtaking landscape, return to Mastuj for a peaceful evening by the river.

After breakfast, journey south toward Garam Chashma, stopping en route to explore Chitral Fort and the elegant Shahi Mosque. Continue along winding mountain roads to reach Garam Chashma, famed for its natural hot springs. Spend the afternoon relaxing amid the valley’s unique contrast of steaming waters and icy streams.
