Itinerary

Begin your journey from Karachi with a visit to the beautifully carved Chaukhandi Tombs, early masterpieces of Sindhi stone architecture. Continue to Haleji Lake, a peaceful bird sanctuary rich in migratory species. In Thatta, marvel at the Shah Jahan Mosque, famous for its 100 domes and flawless acoustics, before exploring the Makli Necropolis, one of the world’s largest historical graveyards. End your day at Keenjhar Lake, where a sunset boat ride to the Noori Jam Tamachi shrine offers a perfect close to your first day.

After breakfast, drive through Sindh’s rural landscape toward Manchar Lake, Pakistan’s largest freshwater lake and home to floating fishing communities. Continue your journey to Sehwan Sharif, one of the region’s most revered Sufi towns. Visit the Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, where devotion and music create an atmosphere unlike any other. Witness the mesmerizing Dhamaal, a spiritual dance performed by devotees at dusk, and soak in the mystical rhythm of Sindh’s living Sufi culture.

Depart Sehwan and travel toward the ancient Amri Archaeological Site, a pre-Harappan mound offering insight into Sindh’s early civilizations. Continue onward to Ranikot Fort, also known as the Great Wall of Sindh — a monumental fortress stretching over 30 kilometers. Explore its ramparts, gates, and inner citadel at Meri Kot, where sweeping views of the desert plains unfold beneath you. As evening falls, enjoy stargazing within the fort’s timeless walls, surrounded by silence and Sindh’s ancient spirit.

After breakfast, journey toward Gorakh Hill, passing through Wahi Pandhi before ascending the steep mountain road in a 4×4. The scenery transforms dramatically from dry plains to cool pine forests as you reach Sindh’s only hill station, perched 5,600 feet above sea level. Breathe in the crisp air, walk along scenic trails, and enjoy panoramic views of the Kirthar Range. As the sun sets, the sky glows orange and purple over the rugged cliffs, offering one of Sindh’s most unforgettable moments.

Descend from Gorakh Hill and head south toward Bhit Shah, the resting place of Sindh’s greatest poet-saint, Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. Visit his shrine, where spiritual music and kafi poetry echo through the courtyard. Continue your journey to Larkana, a city that bridges Sindh’s rich history and modern life. Spend your evening strolling local markets and enjoying traditional Sindhi cuisine, reflecting on a day filled with spiritual and cultural discovery.

Start your day at Mohenjo-daro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s earliest urban civilizations. Walk through its well-planned streets, granaries, and the famed Great Bath. Proceed to Kot Diji Fort, an 18th-century stronghold overlooking the plains, and visit the nearby pre-Harappan settlement. Continue to Khairpur, where the elegant Faiz Mahal and surrounding date orchards showcase Sindh’s royal legacy. Arrive in Sukkur by evening and relax by the calm waters of the Indus River.

Spend the day exploring Sukkur and Rohri, twin towns steeped in history and charm. Visit Sateen Jo Astan (Seven Sisters Shrine), a centuries-old site along the Indus River, followed by the iconic Lansdowne Bridge and Sukkur Barrage, marvels of colonial engineering. Take a short boat ride to Sadhu Belo Temple, an island sanctuary in the middle of the river. End your day at Rohri’s bustling markets, where culture, craftsmanship, and cuisine come together beside the golden Indus sunset.

After breakfast, conclude your Sindh adventure with a flight or train journey back to Karachi — roughly one hour by air or eight hours by road. Reflect on your week-long journey through Sindh’s timeless heritage, from its Sufi heartlands and ancient cities to its majestic forts and highland adventures — a living testament to Pakistan’s oldest and most soulful province.
